Hundreds of young budding artists can see their work being exhibited at the region’s biggest shopping centre this Christmas.

The designs submitted by local schoolchildren as part of Dudley South MP Mike Wood’s annual Christmas card competition are now on display at intu Merry Hill for shoppers and passers-by to enjoy.

The overall winning entry, six runners-up and a window full of other entries are located on the upper mall near to Waterstones, and the remaining entries are located on the ground floor in the finance quarter.

Mike Wood said: “We had nearly five-hundred fantastic entries for the competition this year and while there is only room for the overall winner and six runners-up on my card, there were so many other brilliant designs that I know that Christmas shoppers would want to see.

“I really want to thank Rachael Jackson, the centre manager, and her team at intu Merry Hill for making this display possible so that shoppers can enjoy the artistic talent that we have in our local schools.

“It's been a difficult year, but we can always rely on the creativity of Dudley South’s schoolchildren to make us all smile.”
